During the 2-week evaluation period,
it is determined whether the goats are polled or horned. Approx 50% of our kids
are polled. All kids that are not polled are disbudded. Sunshine Hill Farm
takes pride in the health & quality of all goats born & raised here.
For that reason, male goats will always be sold intact (as bucks) whenever
possible. Kids are disbudded, assigned tattoo numbers, and given their first CD
& T vaccination before going to their new homes. I have tattooing tools, but
normally do not tattoo them, unless specifically requested to do so. All kids are assigned left and right ear tattoos. They need to be tattooed before going to a show. If a goat is not going to be shown, there is no need to put them through tattooing. If a goat is being purchased to be shown, I will work with the new buyer to get them tattooed. I wean them at 8 weeks and all kids are expected to
be picked up at that time. There will be a charge of $2/day boarding fee after
8 weeks old, unless other arrangements have been made. If you do not pick up
your kids within 30 days and I haven't heard from you, I will consider them as
abandoned, they will be put back up for sale, and your deposit will be
forfeited. Deposits with requested characteristics (i.e. male, female, color) are $50 and are NON-REFUNDABLE. Once kids are born, those that are designated as for sale, will be offered to customers with deposits first. Once a customer chooses an exact kid for purchase an additional NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $50 will be required to hold that goat until it is ready to leave the farm at 8 weeks of age. Balances due at time of pickup must be made in cash. To maintain the health of our herd, once a goat leaves Sunshine Hill Farm, it cannot be returned for any reason. Adult Companion Goats sometimes available for adoption. When available, there is a small adoption fee to homes that can verify adequate shelter and fencing, and that verify the existence of a companion animal for the goat. |
